Betsy Salomon joined Douglass + Liebig in December 2019 with a background in public accounting and banking. After graduating from Stanford and from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, she joined one of the top 8 accounting firms in the United States where she specialized in banking and regulated industries. Her smaller clients included a reference book publisher, an art gallery and a greeting card company. She was originally licensed as a CPA in Michigan.
Betsy then transitioned to banking, when she joined the tax staff of a superregional bank in metropolitan Detroit, specializing in tax research and audit defense. Following a merger of her bank with its nearest competitor, she transferred to the Latin American group of the bank’s International Department. With her knowledge of taxes and of Spanish, she managed a portfolio of tax-advantaged investments, including trading Mexican pesos and foreign exchange hedging transactions.
Following the birth of twins, Betsy left the work force to focus on her family. When her children reached school-age, Betsy volunteered in their schools, and was treasurer of the parent organization in almost every school they attended, and of every activity she or they took part in.
Upon returning to the work force, Betsy joined a small public accounting firm in Davis, where she specialized in small retail entities, non-profit organizations and pass-through entities. She looks forward to assisting Douglass + Liebig clients with their accounting and tax needs.
